Default 1983 365 GLT spares or Repair

1983 365 Original and rare 360 GLT 2 litre Injection for sale spares or repair .
This car has been in the family since 1985 and hasn’t quite managed 200,000 miles .

Mechanically ok , this car has been 100% reliable since new , It was a demo at a firm I worked for so I have known it since new . A new clutch fitted 20000 miles ago the original having lasted 170000 miles a spare clutch supplied and the rear brake shoes are original too .

The car is light blue metallic

The bad points :
Body is poor although looks smart from a distance .. drivers door , front panel , rear panel front wings , and oddly a rusty roof at the left rear ! This car will require a complete restoration to get it back on the road , some of the inner panels need repair also .
The front pipe is blowing but there is a spare stainless one in the boot ..

The good points ,
Good bonnet and rear doors, fog lights , Floor trays , genuine Volvo long range auxiliary lights
Interior original GLT Black trim with fine black & White stripped velvet upholstery .
Original GLT alloy Wheels are ok . Green tinted glass

Has been parked up for 5 years so battery U/S fuel gone off in tank but still rolls so brakes not too bad .

Will need winching on to a trailer to take away ..

I’d rather this went to a fellow enthusiast than be scrapped , I can supply turbo and exhaust manifold if you want to go that way , that was in my plans !

Please send me a PM if interested or want to know anything else about this classic 360 GLT which is more pure than it’s later version which was modified in 1985 .. Loads of leg room in the back , come and save it as I wish I could , but with 3 other cars to look after I cant devote time to it as I had planned . Located near Severn Bridge .
PS Pictures were taken in the 1990's

Someone definitely has to save that, lots of potential and the 83 ones are thin on the ground now!

In theory, yes...but I'd be scrapping it, and in practice I'd have to sell a LOT of parts to make back the money involved in coming to get it, and I'm not sure I have the time. It does have a few bits I want from it, so that's worth something, but I'm worried the sums won't add up.

cheers

James

Hello James ,
Yes very understandable , The only two options really now are scap the whole car or find someone willing to restore it ,
Happy new Year

I will be heading to Swansea with another 360 in a few weeks, so I could take a look then. As long as I can cover the cost of moving it by selling parts, I'm happy to take it. The problem is time...I'm rather short of it, and I can't do anything within the next few weeks.

cheers

James
