Default XC90 Crashworthiness

I did not expect to put this to the test quite so soon (my car is only three months old).
I was hit on the front wing, side on, by an articulated lorry (a Volvo, would you believe!); he was in the wrong, and doing 20-30mph.
The robustness of my XC90 was confirmed by the picture below - not really much damage.
Unfortunately (for the 3rd party insurer), the initial estimate for repair is £4k!!!

I work next to a huge insurance repair shop where there are 50 cars at any one time being repaired , the transporters are always coming and going , the ones going are taking away the write offs many with little more than bent bonnets or side panels , they are mainly over 5 years old though .. there are two huge skips which are filled daily with plasic front and rear ends , some just split , need some local plastic welding and reinforcment behind to repair . the scrap yards must be doing a roaring trade now ...
I have always said that there should be a huge dismantlers in central england dismantling cars and selling good doors and panels plastics etc to insurance companies to repair cars at an economic rate , not everyone would want this but if your premium was say half , i could see it catching on :-)

New wing, bumper, headlight, and various bits to do with the wheel/steering. The picture does not show it, but the osf wheel is at a 20 degree slant from the vertical! The alloy might be able to be refurbished, but won't know till they actually start work.
I am still marvelling at how well the car came out of this accident, and it confirms how pleased we are that it is a Volvo.

Update: The car came home today. I had her for all of a couple of hours before depositing her back at the local Volvo garage. The work was done at an authorised Volvo repair shop, but even my untrained eye could tell it had been in a smash. I am unable to comment on the mechanical work they did (but it seems to drive fine), but the bodywork is not perfect. The slight buckle in the bonnet side edge was a giveaway!
Back to the repair shop it goes; maybe their second attempt might be better?!
