I've only done 320 miles - this was a mix of a horrible 2 hour crawl across central london the day I picked the car up and a weekend trip to the West Country and back via the south coast (long story). We started the trip with the car showing 17mph (ugh!) and drove at a mix of speeds with open motorway speeds varying between 60mph (wife driving) to 80mph max (someone will probably point out that's too fast in the first 1000 miles, I know, but it was a long long journey).

According to the car I got 29.8 mph and on refill calculated it as 29mph (although that is probably slightly understated as I probably filled a bit more comprehensively than the dealer did!)

In the circumstances I thought that was quite respectable. I'm guessing I'll get something over 30mpg as an average.

I am at a similar mileage, and have driven under similar conditions/speeds, and averaging 26mpg. Should increase, but slightly concerned in that I have been driving very gently for the most part.
