2006 (P2) S80 D5 SE Lux regretfully selling...
Hi all, sadly the time has come for us to sell our S80 as we no longer have space for such a large car (our passion for French cars has overrun us, with 4 206s and a Xantia as well as the caravan!) Spec is SE Lux so has most of the bells and whistles, towbar, manual gearbox, Euro4 163 engine.
The car is currently on 202k miles (and was registered on the HMC, will update mileage there shortly, wearing it's Bronze 150k badge with pride!) and has 4 former keepers, one of whom was a private hire outfit. Since we bought the car 2 years ago I've removed all evidence of radio wiring etc although there is a couple of small holes on the centre speaker grille from a bracket. In our ownership the car has had new genuine rear shocks, new clutch master cylinder, dead HU850 replaced with a slightly earlier unit which works great and has CD/cassette (will have to check the model, was bought from another member here), upper engine mount replaced with yellow polybush and sticky steering rack replaced with a used one as well as service items and 2 new tyres last winter, fronts will need doing in a couple of thousand miles. Cam belt is due soon, but there is a Gates belt/tensioner kit included with the car (OEM water pump is fine). Overall the car is in reasonable condition for the mileage, some marks to the upper rear bumper presumably from luggage, there when we bought the car, as well as a couple of small scuffs on the front corners. Worst bit of the body really is the small dents in the offside corner of the bonnet caused by a suicidal cyclist on the wrong side of a junction (he just got up, said "oh, i think i dented your car" and rode merrily on his way!) Interior is fair, stitching has come undone on the driver's bolster (could be restitched, always was on the "round tuit" list) and the trim where the memory buttons mount to has cracked, presume larger gentleman entering/exiting car... Various small marks but nothing that worried us, everything works on the car except for the sat nav (laser is dead i think) and the left folding mirror only goes out on it's own, has to be "helped" in. Looking for £750 ono, car is also on ebay currently, photos here- https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/volvo-s80...MAAOSwu0Fe4gwo Cheers, Dan

Lovely motor & best wishes for a swift sale. Just a pointer whilst I was looking at the pictures, it looks like a euro 3 engine? Euro 4's had a grey engine cover.

Well, that's a strange one. The guy who put a deposit on the car has apparently now changed his mind, forfeited the deposit and left to return to Moldova! :?
With this in mind, and the amount of other Eastern European interest largely from messers who want the car for nothing, it will shortly be up for sale once again. This time with the cambelt kit installed and a fresh MoT, possibly new front discs/pads also. Will put together a proper advert when it's been tested again, price will be around £750 at that point. Cheers, Dan.

Hi, we had the same happen to us in December '19 with the sale of our S80 Executive T6 said he wanted the car, been looking for one for ages, paid deposit the decided the car was too big and never heard from him again.
Once the present situation gets back to some sort of normallity we will put her up for sale again and just hope we get a serious buyer preferably a UK permanant resident, what is it with east europeans, pain in the a**e!!!!! Good luck with your sale. Cheers Moe |

Well that is a strange thing, maybe they just like giving away cash for some reason?.
Same plan here, wait until the world has got slightly less mad & more like normality then get the car up to scratch and sell then. Bit of a pain but in the end it makes more sense to do the jobs it needs and not have anything to explain to buyers. Best wishes & good luck with yours too, Dan.
