There are a few posts on the speedometer and instrument panel in general, some of the problems can be fixed by repairing the circuit board, though these are mainly to do with the temp gauge. Faulty sender in the rear axle can cause speedo to misbehave - again if you use the 'search' button you will find details. Might be worth giving Lakes in wyboston a call - but note they will be shutting up for good at the end of September. There is currently a 940 td being broken in the for sale section of the 900 page, cannot recall if the instrument panel is still available - there were 2 types (Yazaki and ?) so find out which you have.

Thanks yes- I have a Yakazi I have already taken it apart and cleaned up some of the joints / connections which got it working for a bit. I don't think the td one will work because the rev gauge is different for a diesel. Been to lakes to look for some other parts but they seem more expensive than eBay etc?

I can't comment on expense, but as everything left will be scrapped I would imagine it's 'no reasonable offer refused'.
BTW if you have managed to work out which are the areas to go over if your temp gauge is out, do let me know.
