Default Help needed

Hi . Could anybody help please I have a 2003 D5 S60 .which shows two messages on the dash board 1 when putting your foot hard down on the gas pedal Engine service required appears engine going in to limp mode. 2 I get the message saying high emissions require service I guess that is the egr value needing attention. Could these two things be connected to each other or do I have two separate thing going on. Any hello would be help full. Many thanks

Hi ,firsly you must read the diagnostic trouble codes that are generated on the ECM. I guess, there would be:ECM-6805(boost pressure faulty - a lots of information about it) and may be ECM-4405(EGR faulty flow). But yes ,if the EGR is stuck in open position ,it can compromate the boost ,hence the messages could be connected. I would clean the EGR first.
