Default Wheel bearings spinning on stub axle?

Can anyone here enlighten me why perfectly good front wheel bearings are spinning on the stub axle? The bearings have never been over-tightened - always a touch of movement - and plenty of grease.

The wear is slight as I have caught it early, and I am fitting new bearings with a touch of Locktite 660 bearing retainer.

I have had this problem on other cars in the past, and now on my GLT. I simply don't know what I have been doing wrong.

Hi,

I had a similar problem on my own 240, used a bearing compound as you mentioned, no real difference noticed, so in the end I changed the bearing and this seemed to sort the problem.

I think some bearing manufacturers tolerances are a little more generous than others.

Scott.
