Default P1800 chassis No. V's engine number advice

Hi folks hope we all well.

I have a 1968 Volvo P1800,
Engine is B20 4969
Chasis.No 27360

I suspect my engine should be the earlier B18 and so I do not have the original engine.

How can I check to see if this is the case.

I am about to have some major engine work done by Classic Swede Dai and if it's not the original engine will most likely exchange mine for a B20 engine Dai will do the work on and then exchange engine's. If it is original engine I will of course have the work done on my engine to keep the car original.

Thank you
Steve .

Have a fiddle around on this website here:

http://volvo1800pictures.com/production/production.php

I expect you'll be able to find the answers there, but initially it looks like 27360 would have been a B18. The first B20's from 28301.

If you send a mail with the chassis number to Volvo museum and ask for delivery information you will get the original engine number. emai Adm.historical.archive(at)volvo.com

Hi there.

I’m a new member so apologies in advance if this post is on the wrong thread.

I just need some advice on how to find my vehicle’s engine number. I have a 2010 60 plate XC60 D5 2.4 AWD.

I have read on another post that the engine number is tucked away somewhere towards the back (as you look under the bonnet). So far I have managed to find the cylinder head number but no engine number.

Any help appreciated.

Thanks

Dave
