What fuel pressure regulator to buy.
My fuel pressure regulator seems to be leaking petrol. It's a B230fk and is mostly stock.
The bosch orginal part seems to cost around £100. After market ones seem to be around £45. And there seems to be lots of adjustable sports adjustable ones for Diffrent prices. What kind of ones have you guys gotten, any nice adjustable ones avaliable? Thanks for reading! |

The car only runs on three cylinders till you rev it up. it also needs a lambda sensor but I'm getting around to doing a lot of work on the weekend. (when I have all the bits)
I looked under the bonnet and found the little vacuum line that runs from the pressure regulator to the intake had become so porous (right at the end next to the pressure regulator) that any pressure just causes the pipe to pinch itself and stop vacuum getting to the regulator. I've got new pipe, And by comparison it's so hard. It makes me think the only reason it would perish next to the regulator would be due to petrol going through the diaphragm and into the pipe. That and I've heard people say changing it on a high milage (by normal standards!) car is a good idea and yields a better running engine. (165k and it's orginal) |

The pipe will perish anyway, mine was perished, I replaced no problems, have 3 redblock >180miles +22 yo and no FPR failures.
Check the hose for fuel smells. While they do fail, the numbers are still small IMO. Also original factory quality is often better than later spares manufacturing so I'd try and stick with the original item if its still fine. If anything will definately wear out eventually its the fuel pump. |
