My 08' C30 2.0d needs a service & is currently on 122k miles. Not sure if/when timing belt was done but would this next service be a full service or major service?
Also, my local Volvo garage quoting £240 for a service & local friendly one quoting £130.
As I'm recently unemployed would the cheaper (though hopefully as good) service be ok?

Thanks in advance for any advice

This link might be useful - http://www.volvocars.com/uk/own/main...rice-indicator

Give you an idea of what you get with a dealership service.

With dealer you would get any software updates the car may need. Volvo Assist [breakdown cover] for 1 year, which they say is worth £99. OE Volvo parts.
Service reminder reset, oil quality monitor reset. What ever else reset. Fault code readout.

With an Indy you may not get OE parts, but that isn't a huge negative as long as the after market parts are decent brands.
No software update or reset of any module monitors unless they have Volvo Vida and no Volvo Assist.

If the Service Price Indicator is correct you might need some DPF additive fluid if that hasn't been done previously.
The belt is due 12 years or 150k.
