Oh , I've updated my resto thread.

Electric VDO speedo..
Are there plug and play speedo's for the clusters till 1980?
Converting my 244 from 1976 to LH2.4 so axle will be modern with sensor (because of LH). Gearbox will be a bit problematic to make it cable driven so.....!!??

Hope to hear,

I used a cable-x unit to take an electric speed signal from the rear axle and drive a cable speedo.

Basically, it's an electric motor with finely adjustable calibration. Works fine, but not cheap.

How deep are your pockets? This is a NOS set. I have no senders. Note it is a KM/Metric set but new faces are available from Dave Barton including some very nice R-Sport versions. PM me if interested. You'll have first option. Much bigger pictures available.

Cable X at 500 eur ie GBP 380,- is well priced. Saw some guys here in NLD use the below components. Motor should be 2000 rpm to get up to 185 Km (120 Mph).

http://www.ebay.com/itm/6V-12V-16RPM...item4d2ed43efd

The controller is a kit by Arduino which needs power supply and a signaal to give the right power/frequency to the before mentioned motor. This hobby kit will cost around 50 GBP but don't count yr hours!

Three of these gauge clusters have just sold on ebay.com.au. Might be worth keeping on eye on there. Search for Volvo gauges cluster.

Price up the gauges individually and it will soon seem a bargain!

There is a chap on the Facebook 240 Fanclub page who's looking to swap an R_Sport cluster for a good M41 Gearbox or reasonable cash offer. His name is "Chuck Pate" and the post was from yesterday. Still available as of today if you want a butchers.
I knew i'd seen one somewhere! It's a closed group, so ask to join or you could just try to message him directly on this link. Good luck, they look sweet!
