Prep was probably 1 hour of work. Same routine I follow for painting brake calipers too.

Today I fitted a Yatour Blue Tooth adaptor to my SC805 radio. (£70 Ebay)
Big thanks to Clan for wiring colours - works fine, but need to fiddle with the CD track buttons a bit to get the audio working. Couldn't get the Aux working but that may be more to lack of patience today, rather than lack of functionality. Phone works fine, but I haven't experimented with incoming calls If anyone is interested, I'll post a more detailed review when I have played for a few days. Keithy |

Got some roof bars and a bike rack
It's a bit noisy right now but all the rubbers strip are missing until I'm sure the rack is in the right position, then I'll cut them

ETM Light has gone out after nearly 3 years
After a service, the ETM light which has been on most of the last 3 years went out... that happens when the codes are cleared. It came back after 4 starts and wouldn't go out for a week or two, but in hot weather the car is hot inside it went out after starting. A mystery but the service and /or the heat seems to have had an effect. Now it goes out every time after a start. The original code indicated pedal sensor issues.. I've had a couple of replacement pedal sensors over the past few years, but that didn't cure the problem.
The 20 year old computer seems to have accepted something is now OK when for the last few years it wasn't! It's nice not having an orange light on when driving in the dark. |

Replaced the coolant header tank on my '97 V70 T5. No leaks or anything, but the float had sunk so I was getting an intermittent low coolant warning light, annoying. Used a "Professional Parts Sweden" item from PFV, hope it doesn't spring a leak, time will tell but all is A-OK at the moment.
Also for ages there's been a problem with the right rear door, the courtesy lights stay on when you shut it, unless you slam it hard. I know this is caused by the little microswitch not closing fully, so took it apart, removed the lock assy, cleaned up the plastic arm that moves the microswitch with brake cleaner and a cotton bud and glued a thin sliver of plastic on it under the microswitch tit, put it all back together and it's perfect now. Very satisfying, pity it took me so long to find the time to do it.

Removed the headlight wiper motors due to one of them being a bit temperamental. Whoever decided to route the engine wiring loom behind the drivers side wiper motor needs a good talking to, though the good engineering elsewhere makes up for it I suppose.
