Default Pcv/crankcase pressure problem

Hi, newbie here. hope this thread is in the right section. purchased my first Volvo (2003 v40 b4204t3) a month ago ish, have done lots of thingS to get it up together but having problems with the PCV system.

I replaced the oil trap itself and cleared all the vacuum lines and galleys in the block, tested and all is clear. however am still getting crankcase pressure as when you take the oil cap off when running it chuffs air out and spits oil everywhere. also when you remove the dipstick it relieves the pressure slightly.

any ideas why I still have pressure guys?? any help at all appreciated. have searched the forum with no luck

thanks
CHRIS

There is a long crazy expensive hose that you are also supposed to replace when you do the oil trap. Did you replace it? That might be the problem. Look up "PCV Kit" on the FCP Euro site for V/S40 and you'll see what I mean.
