WANTED: CD Changer, wires, brackets for 2004 S40
As title really, I have some sort of "pre-wiring" in the boot which looks like its for a cd changer.
Which cd changer would I need for a 2004 S40 with a completely standard head unit? Would the cd changer need to be connected to the head unit in any way (I.e. needing to pull the head unit away from its slot)?? Thanks, |

From what little I know about it, it depends on whether you have and S or an H headunit.
I only really know about the H-series ones, having a HU-605 myself and being in the process of fitting a changer. The changer will require 2 cables, data and power. If you're like me, the data cable will be present, but not the power. You might have the pull the head unit out to connect the data cable up, but that's about it at that end. In the boot if you don't have the power cable (not 100% certain but part no 30889577 seems right) it's about a tenner from volvo (insert advert for rufe here) and from what I can tell it's an extension that joins into the main loom near the rear passenger light cluster. That's my knowledge exhausted |

Thanks.
I have a H series headunit, you are correct about the data cable being present -I think that that's the grey round connector?? It makes sense about the other connector, as I've seen another type of connector on pictures of the cd changer. I find it amazing that eBay doesn't seem to have any cd changers that I need for this particular model!! Thanks again, |
