Don't get me started on 3-pin plugs!

Dogs get under your skin and i'll be surprised if you don't continue to have dogs. I have a similar story about cats, my ex wanted one, we went to view some, she couldn't deicde which she wanted but one kitten came to me so i said how about this one. She agreed then complained she wanted a female kitten (this one was male) and one day i came home from work to find a cute little blue eyed grey kitten that some time later (just under a year) had kittens herself. One died an hour and a half after birth (it was born with its innards on the outside so stood no chance), one was given away and she kept the other female kitten.

I hadn't noticed due to work that the male cat wasn't in very much, he seemed to come in, eat and go out again. It was only when she left and didn't take him (she took the other two) that i started to realise what had been going on. The poor thing was terrified about coming in to the house, took me 18 months to get him back in. He survived with me until he was 10 years old, went out one day and didn't come back. He'd got arrogant about traffic and i suspect he walked out in front of a lorry and expected it to stop and when he became a 2-D cat on the tarmac, realised it hadn't.

I've not had a cat since and don't intend getting one either though, they're too antisocial and supercilious for my liking, give me dogs any time!

Poor thing, have had a similar experience with a cat too. No way i could have another one whilst I have the boys, plus too much cat fighting going on around here, one broke out on next doors shed roof, a right racket, they wont do that again for a while, Loki went ape poop with his gob, they soon shut up and fled lol

After changing the plugs, it started, albeit its normal slow self with very minimal farting, but then it was about 7 or 8C, far from the sub 2C. Meant to be about -1C this morning, according to one app, so if it is colder later, i will test it then.

Didnt get round to testing the plugs with the meter, will try to remember today.

I did pick up a can of easy start from Halfords yesterday though....

Any progress today with testing the plugs and the Easy Start?

Cats are strange animals, my hounds reaction to them is stranger still - she wants to play with most but chases the odd one, especially the one that steals "her" hedgehogs food!
Next doors cat has learned not to touch as she knows my hound will chase her off and mean it, she also knows she can let my hound get close enough to be within batting distance (with claws extended) if she doesn't like being sniffed!

Sorry, no further info as i cant really play about at 5/6am, dont wanna upset the neighbours, need to wait til i dont use the car before dawn, even then it will be a turn to even remember to use the blooming stuff lol. Not to mention that my app was way off, should have know when all other apps and resources said about 6C so it wasnt really cold enough....

dread the day when a cat squares up against one of mine boys, either of my boys will lose, they are a good watch dog, crap guard dog......

I tried the easy start stuff and it did 1 small fart (could be cause of the spray, I sprayed for about 5/8 seconds, read after should be 1/2 seconds lol) and was OK, no other misfire, hard to tell if that's cause of the bisch plugs back in or if it was the easy start, don't think I will know now for a wee while due to milder mornings.

I think it's still cold enough that lack of fuel could cause the problem so the Easystart provides a good clue. Now you'll have to wait until the next cold snap and see if you can repeat the improvement with the Easystart.

It is a major pain that i have to wait until the next morning and has to be a cold morning at that, prob sub 4C (i dont mean -4C) but deffo colder the better to see how bad things are. the -3C was very bad with the new plugs, was like it was firing on only 3

It is annoying it only does it on the coldest mornings and also once you have started it, you get only one chance to try a test. Going to be a long one i think getting to the bottom of it!

Yeah, tell me about it, its not like i could drive over to show you whats happening. Sommat else to think about though, if i use the car the day before for a trip to say Thetford, it will turn over quicker. So even though its a relatively new battery, all cables look fine etc, i have now added a trickle solar charger, just to see if that makes any difference, will try anything at this rate.

What sort of battery is it, is it a normal lead-acid or has it got calcium/silver-calcium on it? Also do you knpw which type was originally fitted and is the battery big enough?

As for driving over, by the time you got out of your village from everything you've said so far, it would be running normally. This time of year a solar charger will put very little if anything in thanks to a distinct lack of sun.
