Default 2010 V50 DRIVe cam position question

Hello everyone,

I have just had the timing belt, pulley and tensioner replaced on this V50 1.6D with the D4164T engine.

I am not exactly sure but it seemed as though the cam always stopped in the same location every time I turned the engine off. You can see an example in the first picture how the holes lined up.

Now after having the job done the cam seems to stop at different locations each time. You can see in the second picture, how the hole on the sprocket is not even near the hole like it was before.

Is it normal for the cam to stop any place or is it always the same position?

The cam sprocket does have a hole the size of a pen that used to line up with a corresponding hole of the same size in the side of the engine. Now it does not line up as before.

The first picture nearly shows the position before and the second shows one of the positions after the job.

Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
