Default Any suggestions for a decent fuel filter tool

http://www.skandix.de/en/spare-parts...-tool/1018905/

Hi folks, trying to undo my fuel filter is a pain, maybe I was more of a savage last year when I undid it. I didn't overtighten it I don't think. Anyway, there's a link above to the correct bit of kit, but it's pricey, any suggestions as to an alternative, the normal 20 inch gorrilla grips that have never let me down, just have.

I dont mind paying for my tools but that ones getting on £50, a lot of money for once a year.

Is this for a diesel? I guess it must be as petrol ones are easy and need no tools.

I do not know if they are still available, but, years ago, I bought a filter removal tool from Halfrauds. Basically, it appeared to be a piece of bicycle chain which hooked onto a lever/handle which tightened onto the filter body when turned. Very effective/efficient and inexpensive.

You're only saying that so I buy it and then let you borrow it. What do you use Mike?

I would buy it actually, but today I was doing the oil etc and I pulled a nail out of one of my tyres and it made a noise like a snake and went flat at the bottom. Of course it couldn't be repaired and seeing as how there was just about 4mm left on both rear tyres I might as well buy two, so 160 smackers later, another 50 seems a lot. Of course if you want to buy it and lend it to me I would not be offended.

The above post from outnumbered came in while I was typing with my elbows, slowly.
