Default Works Done

V40 1999 P1 120k miles.
This weekend i decided to fit new rear brakes discs, pads, anto roll bar links and anti roll bar bushes. Oh the joy of find out that the only thing that is not factory original was the brake pads. Bolts for the holder that the caliper attached to- all the bolt heads rusted to nothing (new bolts fitted), the same with the link arms and the bolts for the bushes and new fuel filter fitted. Old fuel filter was so old that all the print was gone. Thank goodness for air tools ( grinder and cut off ). The difference when going round corners is like chalk and cheese. Car now brakes in a straight line. Nearside disc was warped.
Jobs left are, fit new track control arms, new exhaust system and as nearly done 5k, a service. I have already done the arms and links on the front. I have all the bits and hope to fit the rest next weekend.
Have changed all the rear bulbs for LED's and what a difference and H4 white lights in the front. Body work is tatey but this is a work in progress.

Default Rear LED's

I found the rear LED's very bright. It depends on how many led's are in the cluster. I have 9 in mine and they are brighter than the standard filament bulb.

I also run SMD LEDs and find them brighter than filament bulbs. Trick is to use red LEDs at the back as the white ones have a broad spectrum colour content ,most of which doesnt make it through the red filter.

Default Replacement parts

I changed the fuel filter as part of my plan for the long term running of the car. What a difference in the car. Better MPG and more responsive when i use the loud pedal. As all the print was gone from the old filter i suspect it was the original as it seems is much of the car parts.

Doing what you are doing now Gazza is exactly what I have planned.
My rear wheel (nearside) tends to rub on the inner arch when the car is loaded up and I hit bumps in the road.
I have change the anti-roll linkages but that only improved it.

What were the prices for your replacement parts?

I live in a street were there are speed humps and they seem to be coping very well. Improved the handling as well.
