gurgling noise coming from behind the dash board
Hi I've noticed since installing the thermostat that when im driving ie accelerating there is a gurgling noise coming from behind the dash, I think its coming from the heater matrix? Am I to assume the compression gases are causing air locks in the system? The heater on my journey was nice and warm, then after the gurgling noise it became stone cold is it worth removing the thermostat or buying an 82 degree one? The head gasket is leaking into the cooling system.
Many thanks Last edited by elainesvolvo; Dec 7th, 2013 at 17:15. Reason: forgot info |

I would let it cool down , top up in the morning and see how it goes , Air locks on volvos cure themselves if all is well . No point in changing to a cool thermostat , bad move all round that ..

I've put the old thermostat back in ie the one that has the middle cut out, hopefully that will cure the gurgling 😁

Just got to wait a bit longer now for the heater to work! lol As I said before, my local garage advised me to remove the stat to help with the back pressure etc.

Sounds like a rather odd idea. Some of the Volvo thermostats are not the same as non OEM ones as they have a vent hole.

They are 'rather odd' at the garage.
