Default S40 2005 key fobs both stopped working

Hi people,

i came home from work tonight which is a ten min drive and when i came to lock the car nothing happened. the fob has basically died, so i went to get my spare key and nothing happens with that one either, i can start the car fine. just none of the buttons on either of the keys will work, both keys are normally swapped over as they are kept in the same draw so its not that both batteries have died. does anyone know if there is an easy reset so the car will pick up the signals again as all i can think of is that the car is no longer using the same signal as the keys i have. i know i can lock it using the pull out key but dont really want to take it to volvo tomorrow if i dont need to,
Cheers

Jay.

My spare key fob has died too - main one still working OK though.

I need to get to the main stealer - may just be a new battery required? not sure what the score is with recoding etc... but I'm guessing it's a main dealer job.

2 things here , batteries , if you can measure the voltage , anything below 3volts is suspect but usualy they dont just stop working , the range decreases as the batteries go down .. and do you have a wireless internet router or similar close by which can interfere . The Keys cannot be re coded , they dont loose their code ...
