Please help. I added 5.8 L and I got engine system server required! Why is that and do I need to stop driving it just now?

let it stand on a flat surface for half an hour , then see where the level is on the dipstick ...

How far did you drive before the message came up ? Did you let all the oil drain out it would take about 10 minutes ?

The massage appears right after I started it. And I drove it now for 5 miles back home and its in a flat serfece. The oil was compleilty drained for more than 10 mins.? Do u want me to update you with the dipstick reading in half hour? Thank you

yes see the dipstick level when it has settled , it should be about half way up the XXXXXXXXX section ...

If the message came up as soon as you started the engine it is unlikely to be the oil level as it takes 20 miles of driving for the level sender to adapt to a new reading , The message could be for many many other things as well ..

I made sure that the oil was fully drained for more than 15 minutes. And I added 5.8L exact. Now the dipstick show its 2 xx less before max. Which makes it up to 5.8L not 6.2. The massage start to show right after I put the key on and starts the car. Do u need to drive it more to 20 miles for the oil level check you mentioned? Or drain more oil? Thank you indeed...

I would drain about 1/2 litre out and then see how it goes after a 20 mile drive ... Easy to add a bit more back in later if needed . If the message stays you will have to get the fault codes read by the garage .

How can i drain half liter!? Is it gonna be the case every time I change the oil. Trying to get the right amount based on the "try and error"
Also please one more thing. Is it OK for me to drive it for 20 miles or is it bad for the engin? Thanks

it is probably easier to drain the lot out and put back say 5.5 litres , as long as teh level is not below the XXXXXX mark it will be ok for your test . We do not know that the level is high at the moment , that message could mean quite a number of different faults ...

I purchased a giant syringe not too long ago to adjust fluids as necessary. You can get them online for around £3 posted. Extremely handy to have when doing your own servicing and maintenance etc. It means you don't have to touch the sump plug again if you've overfilled.
