If you already have the twin outlet manifold then the 4 branch only has minimal advantage. Its the rest of the system where the real gains are to be had.
As to what manifold to go for its a case of where in the engine range you want to make the power. Typicaly 4-1 manifolds are best for high RPM and 4-2-1 manifolds are best to low down. |

Volvo used the twin out cast manifold with twin Solex for their 145bhp R kit so it can't be bad.

Amazon69 reported on a very good system that he got made up by a firm in Gloucestershire. Could he give an update to say whether its still performing well? I remember that this was an alternative to the off the peg systems discussed here.

Well yes, he could.
It is performing perfectly. It is a great improvement over the simons exhaust as far as I am concerned, but then it was a fair bit more cash. However, it is elegant, more muted but still gruff, indestructible and most importantly for me, does not ground anywhere. That last point is probably not an issue unless your car is lowered, but I always found the Simons back box ungainly and mine was always getting clouted and scraped. Here's the original link.

Thanks
£300 isn't bad for a made to fit stainless system. Only thing I would say is previous cars I fitted with a SS system had a 'ring' at certain revs. Amazon69, does yours have this? Russ |

No ring, and it's a much better sound than the simons.
