Default warning light !!!!

Hi, my ignition warning light came on suddenly whilst driving my 1966 p1800s
checked the fanbelt a.ok went for the [to my mind] the easiest solution brushes, removed dynamo ouch, checked brushes & springs also the commie all in great order, boxed it up & tried the engine, result solid red light!.
Removed cover on voltage regulator & found a small pip on the contacts , removed these with wet & dry 800 grade [dry of course] refitted cover, result red light goes out @800 rpm. Time taken for regulator check/adjust 5 minutes.
Time taken for easiest solution 1 hour 45 minutes plus grazed knuckles & a very sore 74 year old back, just thought this may be of some use to someone else.
Cheers jim Smith.
