There was frozen snow build up inside and outside of the sweep zone too, which the heated screen cleared really quickly. I'd be surprised if the Aqua blades could shift that - I find that mine can barely even keep my screen clear under normal conditions!

I.ve ordered mine with a heating windscreen, I did fancy a HUD but felt living in the north east of Scotland the heated windscreen would be a better option

There are no heated wiper blades. The washer fluid gets heated to stop it freezing but the wipers are normal blades.

The car I test drove had HUD and to be quite honest I wasn't impressed by it, and seeing it was £1000 option at the time I decided no. I much preferred my previous 2 Peugeot's HUD which had a small screen that poped out of the dash on start up, I think they were a lot clearer.
I also didn't go for the heated screen as I'm not really an early bird anymore and I was trying to keep the cost down, I doubt you ever recoup the cost of loads of extras when you sell.

I've had many cars with heated windscreens over the years, starting in 1996. Currently have only one and it isn't the Volvo, which does have the HUD, which I do find most useful, especially when navigating on a roundabout, for instance.

Ideally I'd have both. Wouldn't mind not having either, which is the case with several of my family's cars. I go with the flow, as it were.

I can remember when the only topic of conversation was how are we going to manage without a starting handle and for the detailers what grade of sandpaper is best to rub down my new coat of Valspar paint. Puts heated windscreens into perspective. Yes I could live without one and everything else but what a difference it makes when you need it.

How about not even having a radio, screen washer jets, reversing lights , having to stick your arms out of the window to indicate when you were turning right or left or slowing down. No power steering or servo assisted brakes, the list goes on. They were the days .
Trouble is now once you've had all these different driving aids, you don't want to be without them, I'm as guilty as the next man, I love my extras.
We've all gone soft.

Heated screen is pretty useful I must say. HUD is supposedly gonna make driving safer, so anything that improves safety is a great feature.

I just wasn't too keen on the BMW HUD as I find it a bit intrusive. The Volvo HUD is much more discreet and is great...

Purely out of interest -
Is there a 'technical' reason for not being able to have both? I.e. Is it because, for example, the wires embedded in the screen affect the HUD visually, or is it just because they use the same wiring loom, module, or whatever?

I was wondering the same thing.
