Default 300 series

Unfortunately I don't have any literature for the 300 series bits, but do have a price list, I will try and scan it.

I get the impression that TAD did not have any colour literature for the parts but simply had typed price lists, desk top publishing was very crude in the 80's

Default TAD and R-Sport.

Hi Andrew,

It's been an age since I came on here until reasonably recently.

I have the Original TAD catalogue listing parts for various Volvo's, 120/140/240 and, I believe, there maybe some mention on 340.

It's mostly a parts price list rather than a colour catalogue, and the information comes in a white TAD Catalogue folder type outer, inside it came with Price lists, and review on the fitted kit.

I am also sad enough to have kept the original TAD Leather key fob, along with (as you may recall) a bunch of R-Sport Turbo parts, both used and new.

My fantastic modified 940 Sports edition sold to a really nice guy on this forum, but I still have my Amazon and have recently got her on the road again.

I really must get some scans done, I also have all of the R sport Turbo parts and fitting guides and also a thick catalogue of R sport parts (including pics) for 120/140/160/240 series cars.

James

I used to live in Finchley and TAD had a reputation for cleaning and refitting oil filters when servicing cars. They lost Volvo franchise is late 80's and then went through a series of other manufacturers, Peugeot and Mitsibushi possibly amonst others

Tangentially, a sparky i knew way back used to re-use domestic switch and socket face-plates, after he had his wife scrape of any old paint and wallpaper with a final spit and polish with Jif....you could smell his work!

Hi Andrew164, I used to work for TAD until 1981. I can say that during my tenure I did not see any cleaning and refitting of oil filters, but it did remind me of a humorous event!

One of the mechanics, on removing an oil filter found that it had an orange dot painted on it (presumably to see if the filter was changed or not). When the customer picked his car up he drove off and was back within minutes claiming the filter had not been changed because it still has a little orange spot painted on it by himself prior to dropping off for the service. The reception guy then produced the old filter from behind the desk with the little orange dot on it and said 'Oh you mean this old filter! We found this orange spot on it and thought it must be important so we painted a new one on the new filter for you'... embarrassment and laughter ensued....

If you want to know anything about TAD I will try to oblige, guys.

you can see how rumours start now :-) Its hearsay .

I fitted a volvo engine tuning kit , alloy wheels and the body decals etc to a 343 B14 in 1981 ,
and a full volvo GT engine kit , alloy flywheel , spoiler , instruments , decals ,wheels , aux lights , grille light kit to a 144 S in 1972 .. Those were the days ..
