Got my eye on this car with 100k on the clock, having owned a T5 I'm aware of certain common problems on these cars, any heads up on what I should look out for?

If it's an auto it's a case of "not if but when" on the gearbox failure front.

The gearbox is a ticking, very expensive timebomb.

But apart from that they are great

Heh, the T6 slusher makes the geartronic in the other cars look like a paragon of reliability. Its a different gearbox (GM I think?) and just isn't up to the job. Not Volvo's finest hour.

I was just saying to the wife yesterday that I'd certainly change my D5 for a T6 LPG if it wasn't for the GM gearbox issues. I'm a massive fan of LPG on all cars (my other car is a BMW 330ci LPG) and I just can't understand why LPG isn't more common in the UK.

Takes many miles to recover the initial outlay and also economy is affected

I drive 40,000 miles a year, it makes perfect financial sense to me - much more so than derv.

on my BMW, it's paid for the conversion within 7 months. Everything after this is just saving over petrol.
