I use Adam’s gas, pay a one off deposit for the bottle and then just pay for the gas. It’s very handy for me as I can get gas out of work hours as the guy up here does it as a side business so I just message him and arrange a time that suits.

The problem I've had in the past with the small bottles ,Clarke from Halfords for example, is occasionally you can get a dud (empty) cannister .
It would be hard to prove it was empty when you purchased it , so you end up out of pocket.
It has happened more than once to me and often dissuades me from purchasing more.
That said, I wouldn't be tempted to bodge a repair with filler.

I did once purchase a big reel (5kg)of un fluxed .6 wire , it proved a bit too much for the feed motor , so it went in the bin.

Looking forward to seeing more progress, even if I don't have an Amazon it's interesting to follow your projects progress.

On a lighter note ....

But he does have a bit on the scythe !

Do you have a digital luggage scale, one of the hand-held jobbies? Take that with you when selecting the small gas bottle to purchase and weigh them to make sure you're not getting an empty.

I rebuilt the boot floor and inner arches of my Peugeot 205 using this and that was a tricky job with French steel the thickness of cigarette paper. On a Volvo with its top quality steel it becomes a completely different job, much easier!

Halfords have the SIP 0.8mm for £8.50 a roll at the moment which is good value.
I looked in Lidl, but the shop doesn't have MIG wire in stock at the mo. I'd never have thought of looking in a food shop (primarily) for welding supplies, but I did see it had self-darkening visors (only £35 and looked okay), arc rods and magnets all at good prices. I noticed the store was selling arc welding transformers remarkably cheaply - but I couldn't help thinking that most of its clientele would have neither the need or the ability to use one.

They did at one time have inverter welders and plasma cutters.
Aldi/Lidl special buys are worth the occasional browse on their websites.
You never know what you'll find, sometimes quite useful stuff.

A bit more done.

Sill front on the passenger side was worse than expected, so the whole area was replaced.

Lots of cutting done on the driver's side which is way worse.

Nasty bits of chassis rail cut off.

Outriggers made up, waiting to be folded.

Repairs are coming along nicely, you are in for the long haul !
Rails look nasty , I don't think I've seen anything as bad being saved.
You should name it Lazarus !

Not sure if its the same in UK as it is in Ireland, but Lidl have a few handy bits this week including Grinder discs, Next week there is a nibbler, ideal for cutting sheet metal .

Can't see any grinding or cutting discs but other useful toys for the boys here :

Maybe as you suggest, Ireland gets a slightly different stock profile?
