Instructions attached, no mention of needing VIDA just wind it in with the hex screw.

I'm about to do mine. Discs and pads on all four corners.

The bolts on mine were too corroded to remove the motors, so I used the 12v method to retract them

Just done my V60 that has electric handbrake although nervous to start with I found it very easy and quick. Wound the motor back using 12volt from a battery and pushed piston back in with a gclamp all done in half hour per side and no problems

I could only undo 1 of the electric cover 30 bolts, so I used a 12volt adapter from an old appliance and taped some 1.5mm copper cable to each and touched the spade connectors. I found this worked very well and you could hear and see the piston moving in or out depending on which side touched. I had to use a fair bit of leverage to push the piston fully in because my 100mm g clamp wasnt big enough.

Well it's all done.
I had to use a sledge hammer to get one of the front discs off. It was like it was fecking welded on.

I also used the 12v method for the parking brake motor. It looked easier than taking it apart and Volvo recommend you replace a ridiculously expensive 'o' ring if you do take it apart. It worked a treat, you can see immediately if you have the polarity wrong as the caliper moves the wrong way.
It all resets itself fine once you use the parking brake again.

The whole shooting match, pads and discs on all 4 corners, must take a garage about an hour (took me two and a half and 30 minutes of that was getting that one disc off) and my local specialist wanted over £200 in labour for this. I dread to think what a main dealer would charge.

ive done this myself,quite a straight forward job,but now I get a service message and the electronic handbrake + parking sensers don't work,is there a module that works these items

Just done mine on a 2014 xc60, there is a video on you tube, of the job on a V70 that's exactly the same. No special tools required and roughly 1 hr per side for new discs and pads. The hardest thing was the single torx screw holding the disc onto the hub, as the end of the tread protrudes through the hub and gets the dirt and weather, once its moving its fine but WD40 and a straw would be a good idea if you could reach the back of the hub first.
