Wheel problem

Hi All.
I got a puncture last Saturday. Managed to get to work and found a garage to sort it out. When he took the tyre off it had a inner tube inside. The reason for this I think is because the hole for the valve is to big for todays valves?. Has anyone else had this problem or is my wheel just Knackered!. If it is does anyone in Hampshire have any spare wheels. Preferably Portsmouth/Southhampton area.

no thats normal m8 they have some larger valve storks for these cars

which fit in the larger hole but sadly most fitters / tyre places dont carry or stock the older type so its a case of finding an old school fitter or special order them ( can be found on fleabay ) and take them along with you to be fitted

you will have better luck with a agricultural or commercial tyre fitter,
if you cant get any pm me and I'l see my supplier

Come to the Portsmouth Section Club meeting on Thursday 10th April Golden Lion pub Southwick Village ( on the road from Wickham to Portsdown Hill) 7.30 on at least five Amazon owners attend on a regular basis I will look at my Amazon wheels.

I see you're in Portsmouth. There's a a Protyre down there and they stock the proper size valves for the big hole

Many thanks for the replies, considering post is in the wrong place and I didn't say what car I had.
Owner of garage is going to sort it on Friday hopefully.

As others have said, this is normal for Amazons. The tyre valve you need is called a TR415

Not 100% sure, but I think it's because these rims may have originally been intended to run tubes. Tubes seem to usually have a small rubber collar / grommet where the valve of the tube goes through the wheel rim (presumably to prevent the valve chaffing), hence the larger hole size.
