Default HUD or heated windscreen

What's your preference

I chose HUD but am wondering if I've made a mistake.

Heated windscreen. HUD is a bit distracting to me in my opinion. I've never switch it on even mine CamE with it

After 3 years with my XC60 that was my 1st ever car with a heated windscreen I only used it twice ....... in 3 years.......
But must add my car is garaged.

So my new XC60 will definitely have HUD as the no-cost alternative.

Heated windscreen for me. The car is on my drive and in winter it's invaluable to get moving quickly on a frosty morning. HUD information is all something that's visible already somewhere else, so I see it as just replication of information I already have.

Living in Scotland, heated windscreen all the way. I would imagine that the further south you go, the less useful it is.

I made that choice and went heated, it was used a lot in the XC60, not just for defrosting but quick delisting without the fan turned up to 11.

Having gone through last winter - "Beast from the East" and all that, even down here on the south coast the heated screen was invaluable.

I first had this feature on a 1988 Escort XR3i Convertible, sold in 1990, I had to wait a quarter of a century to have another car fitted, the wiper de-icer on the Subaru was nowhere near as good.

Without exceedingly long arms the XC60 windscreen would be impossible to fully de-ice without it.

Indeed , a heated front screen is just a marketing tool for volvo as some of the competition has it ... The standard heater/defroster is already very capable of defrosting the glass , and already has a built in electric heating element since 2005 for the air coming from the demister vents and a copious volume of air flows through there.

Smile Heated for me

Deliberated over which to get, but the display in centre console is good enough so went for heated pack. I’m sure I’ll be grateful of this in winter.

Test drove with HUD and did like it, but wasn’t too fussed.
