Default Quick check of something daft.

Just now be checking the car over in the garage and found something really stupid, you can lock and arm the alarm from the key with the bonnet open?

leave the door or boot open you cannot?

Anyone willing to check if theirs is the same...

Normal, as the bonnet doesn't have a "closed" or "open" sensor...

Ho? I've never had the message "bonnet open". Only boot or door but never bonnet...

well i sought confirmation from a friend on C30 world and this is the result all true and correct.

Quote:
actually, it's doing exactly what it says in the manual, you just have to read it slowly and absorb it.

"Arming the alarm
– Press the lock button on the remote control.
A long flash from the car’s direction
indicators confirms that the alarm is
armed and that all the doors are locked.Disarming the alarm
– Press the unlock button on the remote
control. Two short flashes from the car’s
direction indicators confirms that the
alarm is disarmed and that both doors are
unlocked.
NOTE
Do not attempt to repair or modify alarm
system components. All such attempts
could affect the terms of insurance.
IMPORTANT
The alarm is fully armed when the car’s direction
indicators have made one long flashand the light on the dashboard flashes once
per second."

i'm betting that you hadn't noticed the indicators didn't give a single flash (or that the deadbolts didn't engage after approx 25 seconds).

you can also do the same thing with the hatch as you did with the bonnet. leave it open and lock the car from the remote and the doors will lock, the dash light will flash BUT the indicators will not flash and the deadbolts will not engage.

so to summarise, the dash light should blink AND the indicators should flash once for the system to be fully armed.
