random pipes

Hey all have recently gotten an 87 360GLT. I'm used to my 86's and have noticed a few extra pipes. they come out from under the exhaust manifold, come up to the can cover where its blocked off then go back under exhaust, around block to something I'm not sure what it is. can anyone help with that description? thanks

Spot on mate. it annoyed me to no end as i didn't know what it was for. its an ugly bit of kit I'd like to get rid of but its my only hassle free car at the mo
