Credit to the dealer. Faults found and switches replaced. Good job from the team at Ray Chapman Motors, York!

Ive just noticed my V90 is doing this, closes, but has stopped the ‘pull in’ at the bottom.

Take a video of it when it next does it to show the tech, also there is a setting to set how far the tailgate lifts, try adjusting or restting this to see if it helps.

Great idea - my issue wouldn't show up when I was at the dealer despite it happening 30 minutes before I got there....

I am having exactly the same problem with the tailgate. Occasionally. I think it may only happen in cold weather. You shut the tailgate, sit in the car and it tells you it is still open. Taking it to the dealer with request that they read this thread.

Update. Solved by Volvo Cambridge.
The problem in my case was that the catch mechanism on the floor was very slightly out of line too far back from the door catch, with the result that occasionally it did not register on the sensor and the car, or app., showed a red line at the back of the car. |

Our last XC60 done exactly the same and gave up worrying about it, tried some new ones in the showroom and there were the same.
