The one in my '02 went at 177,400 / almost 13 years service.
Replaced with a FAG (Germany) which seemed first class all the way.
My machinist pal told me to pour transmission fluid all over it.
It glistened till the day I sold the car.

Today I organized the next "shot in the arm" for my '07'.
Struts, Volvo mudflaps, pollen filter, windshield molding clips and fluids, all gathered and ready.

I replaced the air filter in the dark just to get something done.
32,500 miles over 41 months made the old one dirty.
We know these filters can go 60K, but I have no qualm retiring a filter from which dirt and wee stones fall.
Ha, a Covid era air filter....should burn it.
Sorry, only just seen this reply...

Car has done 229k (ish).

Passenger side bearing was pretty rough (sounded like it was full of gravel). Driver's side was not as bad, but it was pretty notchy.

Both new bearings are Febi (used a FAG on my missus's 1999 V70 and it only lasted 2 years/12k miles. Was not impressed).

Managed to unseize column uj with some penetrating spray then a dosing of ludricant, not perfect but at least its driveable now, also cracked a rib in the process, third time for this rib now.

Oil change and sparky poos.
Oil from Belgium (Klondike), filter from Mexico (H-M HU819X), spark plugs from France (Volvo #8642660).

a while since any posts on this..

used car as a van for the first time in ages, took my mini subframes to the sandblasters (front subby in the boot without seats down / rear subby strapped to the roof) then took the kids down to southend to sea life centre, something to do

so that's 2 fairly decent long-ish runs to give it a bit of a clear out. felt good because I've been using the bike to and from work and then only very short hops to the shop in the evenings

anyway I noticed the HVAC was blowing warmer on my side so I recalibrated the motors on the CCM using VIDA. back to cold all round now, pretty straight forward stuff

Default Elvington - TorqueVolvo

Did a 450 mile round trip to York this weekend for the TorqueVolvo event.

Great turn out. Never seen so many Volvos in one place. It was nice as it was 20th anniversary of the V70R/S60R so we all got to park together.
