Default '08 V50 2.0D Exhaust Flexi Size

Hi Chaps,

I haven't posted in a while but today I'm a bit stumped. My V50 has failed it's MOT on an exhaust blow from the flexi connector. It's fair enough, it's an original part and I've been meaning to change it. The problem is that I can't find dimensions for it anywhere. Does anyone know what size I need off the top of their head? I'll be taking the cheap man's route and chopping the old flexi off the cat' and welding in a replacement instead of buying the whole unit.

Cheers,

Alex

For anyone that comes across later, I used one of these from spAmazon: https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0BC419Z...roduct_details.

I marked up the alignment of the catalytic converter with the flange (they're not square with each other) and cut the old flexi out. Welding the new one in wasn't too bad considering it was thin stainless welded to thick mild steel but you do have to be mindful of blowing holes in the stainless. The worst part of the whole thing was the eight-or-so hours spent under the car, drilling out the corroded studs on the middle box. I can't wait to just rip it all out and put a new exhaust in.

Hopefully this helps anyone going forward who has to do this job; it's not for the feint of heart.

Cheers,

Alex
