And bailey themselves are as much use as a chocolate fire gaurd when it comes to advise on how to deal with the damp.
Fortunately I have found an independent that does bailey warranty work who is happy to supply the materials I need, these come from leasure+ but they only sell into the trade so you need a friendly repairer to get you the bits. One piece of advise I was given was to ALWAYS use the correct caravan adhesives, others have been found to attack the polystirine insulation in the wall sandwich over time. Bailey vans are not cheap new and in my opinion nowhere near value for money, when I looked the speced model came in at £22,000+, happy with my older bailey at the price I paid for it it is good value for money, that I have a damp problem is symptomatic of a 13 year old van and doing it myself will result in a cost effective repair that will not be skimped on. Professional repairs would quickly see the van written off as uneconomic to repair. New wall boards baught and awaiting repairs to start. Paul. |
