just wait for some crystals. the PFV projectors look tacky, and don't suit the car IMHO.
Crystals are OE on 2003-2005 C70s, but aren't cheap new from Volvo, or from someone who knows their worth Best thing I could suggest is buy one to break that has some, maybe a T5 one if poss, manual trans etc, make it worthwhile and get you your money back kinda thing.... just my 10 cents Dunc

As above, the crystals are much better than the originals even with standard bulbs and are plug n play with no mods required.

Does the collective think that C70 crystals are the best lamp out of all the options, then? They certainly seem to be in short supply!
I'm trying to weigh up whether £160 on a pair of PFV standard type lamps is better value than £255 on the projectors (plus matching indicators) - any opinions?

OEM Reflectors, with the glass in good condition are great especially with HIDS. ABM Projectors - are rubbish even with HIDs Crystal Headlaps -are the preferred option due to looks and light output. Work ace with HIDs. I don' think their light output is miles better than the corrugated style OEM headlamps in good order. As for sourcing crystal headlamps, they are hard to come by but, they aren't usually as good as they look in pictures when sellers are flogging them. The chrome can have some weathering/deterioration and quite a bit of pitting on the lens. FWIW I bought mine new from Volvo at £199 each.

One of my C70's had aged OEM lenses and the light output was terrible. Most 70's cars lenses are in this condition. My other C70 and S70R had lenses in perfect condition and running the same Philips bulbs the light output was perfectly acceptable. With HIDS in these vs the Crystals, in my experience the crystals are bit better but not £400 better.

I'm taking 'crystal' to mean the clear lense headlamps fitted to C70s after 2001-ish.
Thanks for that info, all! I think I'll go for a set of the 'normal' lamps from PFV. My R AWD had some that I assume came from there, and they were alright. May try some HIDs behind them ready for winter...

OEM REFLECTORS
WITH HIDS (as long as the lens and reflector are in good condition, they work great with HIDs). CRYSTAL/JEWEL WITH HIDS 55w KIT ABM PROJECTORS (seriously don't waste £300 on these and buy the Crystals from Volvo)
