Default Double Din stereo fitting

I have a double din unit to fit to my 1998 C70 coupe. |The stereo I have got hasn't come with a cage or facia panel, apparently a lot don't these days (been a long time since I fitted a stereo_. Do you know where i can get this from couldn't see any on ebay or any general tips for fitting it in place of the old 901 unit.

Here ya go:

Once you remove the OEM headunit, there are plastic guide rails on either side of the stereo compartment. These usually have to be ground off with a Dremel or something to accommodate an aftermarket cage and head unit.

The cage will then have to be screwed into the compartment. Space is pretty tight in here, so if you can use the lowest profile screws that you can get, or counter sunk screws it will help.

You'll understand what I mean once you go to slot the stereo into the cage.

Petrohl is correct about having to grind the rails off to get the cage in. The Pioneer double din I bought came with the cage and facia.
I didn't have to use screws as the cage had push tabs you bent into the slots.

What head unit are you fitting. I am thinking about fitting a double din unit that has android auto on it - do you have any recommendations?

Thanks Richard

I believe they have a separate Amp in them to drive speakers..
You'll need something like this...
