Surely the cost of LPG can't go up too much as people will simply buy bottled gas at a fraction of the price and pump it into their car instead.

I don`t understand why we can`t use CNG, in a way it`s everywhere, cookers, boilers etc!
It takes longer than fuelling up but can be done at home, or your friends house, or the pub! And it is much `greener`.http://gas2.org/2008/04/29/natural-g...f-the-country/ read from para.9 onwards first. This is the same natural gas as domestic UK supply. "Manufacturing companies (commonly referred to as OEMs) are not importing CNG cars to the UK. A number of OEMs (Ford, Honda, Fiat, Volvo) have factory-produced NGVs available, but only in left hand drive form for the US/European market. This report presents the results of a project carried out by Advantica and National Weights and Measures Laboratory (NWML) and funded by the DTI under the NMSPU National Measurement System Programme for Flow Metrology. The report provides an introduction to relevant technical aspects of Compressed Natural Gas (CNG), and Natural Gas Vehicles (NGVs), vehicle refuelling, dispenser design and metering technologies. Results are presented of an international survey of countries where CNG is already in use. Current legislation in countries where CNG is already extensively used is discussed, along with legislation under development by organisations such as OIML. Current practices for type approval and calibration of CNG dispensers are also assessed." Measurement, Approval And Verification Of CNG Dispensers G.Thomas - Advantica J. Goulding and C. Munteanu - NWML http://www.nmo.bis.gov.uk/Docs/Legis...dispensers.pdf [Accessed 2 January 2011] Last edited by johnjp; Jan 2nd, 2011 at 22:29. |

With the correct pump it is perfectly safe but there are pleanty of the wrong types of pump being sold on an internet auction site that could be very dangerous.
