Default Volvo 10 disc changer for sale

I am selling a genuine Volvo 10 disc CD changer, which came from a V40. Please note that I do not have the cables or the mounting bracket.

I bought this recently intending to install it in my V40, then no sooner had I done that than I found the T4 I had been looking for and she has already got one. So this is now surplus...

I have checked it and it is working fine.

Looking to recoup my costs, so asking £40 plus postage at cost.

Fits S40/V40 with HU head-units (and I believe many of these are already pre-wired); might well fit other models as well, I guess, but I can't say for certain.

Can anyone tell me if this ten cd unit could be retrofitted to the six cd changer wiring in an S70?

Hi Mincehead

I can't properly answer your question (and I wish I could as I am the one trying to sell!)

However, I have had a look at the 6 disc changer I have in my 480 and the wiring looks the same as in the V40. I imagine the issue is more to do with what head unit you have and whether it will actually control the different changer. For example, I have a CR905 in the 480 and it can only deal with 6 discs...

Not the definite answer that hopefully someone on here can give, I know, but I thought it might help!

I`m not sure of the model type but I have upgraded my stock S70 unit for the extra single play cd type (retaining the cassette player too) that connects to my boot mounted stock S70 6 CD unit.

IF it will indeed be a `plug and play` unit, you might have a buyer.

Hey dcw, any chance of a GOOD picture of the DIN plug, I might be able to ascertain from that whether it will fit my cars wiring etc?

You just need to do a bit of research!

if you go to volvo's accessory pages here...

click on "audio system" and go to page 65 it seems to list the 10cd auto changer as fitted to s/v40's as compatible with a CR-504 or CT-505 fitted in the s70.. so if you have either of those it looks like your alright..

i've only spent 5mins looking at it so you will have to convince yourself - don't rely on my quick check.. but at least you know where to look now..

cheers

As far as I am aware 'SC' head units can not work with the 10 disc changers. Something to do with a change in the control signal. The 10 Disc should work with all of Volvo's 'HU' series head units across the range.

The bracketry is different from vehicle to vehicle as is the part number for the cable, but that is down to the length change as some cars have more between the wheels etc...

I have a HU-605 with amplfier in my S40 and the 10 disc works fine. Mine came from a scrapped S60.

Hope this helps.

Brilliant thanks. I can confirm I have an SC-805 now and that the 10 cd changer is not only non compatible it`s actually of a lower specification from a digital to analogue samling rate point of view so this clinches it for me.
I`ll stick to my 6 cd changer thanks.

-Chris-, MANY thanks, great information, I`ve bookmarked it.

Default 10 disc CD changer - still for sale!

Still for sale!

Thanks to everyone for their input on this.

Can't guarantee it, but we seem to have established between us all that this should work, apparently, from any Volvo "HU" head unit, as well as CR504 and CT505.
