I've just gone to check mine but My Volvo has been shut down for "improvements".
As an aside I have been cc'd into an interesting email exchange between various Volvo departments. This occurred when I asked through their website how My Volvo collects it's data. My query originated from the fact that I added Nav to my order but the My Volvo website had not updated to reflect that. Being an Engineer my curiosity was awakened and I wanted to understand how all the interfaces worked. Well from what I can make out the actual factory order (I.e your spec and build information) is stored in something called nVista but this does not talk to My Volvo. But when I get emails like this....quote "think that it is the GOF to VDW that is communicated to My Volvo where the customer can search the order via D-O Nr" then what actually talks to what is anyone's guess !!!! I'll post outcome when query is finally resolved..... |

How things have changed over just one year.
I was quoted Sept 2013 for my delivery.....went off on holiday for a week in June, when I got back had a message from dealer to call. He informed me that my car was in his yard so I collected it July 4th 2013. Coming up to one year old and I still love it. Often wonder if I should have had the active 4C added, but had to stop somewhere.....lol..

That's probably due to your car being over the accepted 2 litre company car limit and CO2 to make the accountants wear nappies.
Many companies now have a CO2 cap of around 140. Look at Volvos D3, they've dropped it from 163 to 136 to get CO2 into the mid-110s on an S60 which seems a bit pointless when the D4 can get under 100. Enter the company car market and you better be geared up for volume or be left red faced.

With the new VEA engines (not long launched), they replaced the 163bhp 2l 5 cylinder engine option with the new 181bhp 2l 4 cylinder engine. They will eventually replace the D2, D3 and D5 in the S60 with versions of the same engine, in different states of tune: D2 (~120bhp, single turbo), D3 (~150bhp, single turbo), D4 (as now, ~180bhp, twin turbo) and D5 (200+bhp, twin turbo). |

Not all the engines have dropped CO2. I looked at the D5 (205) which was as dirty as my old Euro III D5. Volvo have managed a miracle of physics burning more fuel with fewer CO2 emissions. Euro III D5 166g/km real world 45 MPG, Euro V D3 139g/km real world 40-ish MPG see sig.

Delivery Date Jumped
Mine has just jumped to the end of September beginning of October. I ordered on the 5th April could be near enough 6 months before delivery in the end I'm told. Was originally told end of June for delivery.
Ordered a Volvo S60 R-Design Lux Nav D4. Not very happy, Volvo need to pull their finger out. |

They certainly do..
The plot thickens with mine, the same dealer has recently received a very similar spec car to the one I ordered, everything bar the ABL. I have decided to go for this one as they could not guarantee when the actual car I had ordered would arrive. I was wondering if they have somehow messed my order up and forgotten the ABL, it could be just a massive coincidence but I wasn't taking any chances as it is almost a month overdue already. Hopefully be ready for collection on the weekend. |
