Cabrio roof seam separating
Hi all, the rear roof (canvas) seam on the wife's Golf cabrio is separating. It isn't stitched, only folded and glued, with a backing tape, also glued. I'm at a loss to know what glue to use to mend it- I suspect I'll only get one clear shot at it so need to get it right. It must be a contact/impact glue as I can only just get my hand underneath it to press from the underside, so need an instant fix. Must be a very strong bond as there's a lot of tension at that point.
Any suggestions?? I can only think of Evo Stik but it's potentially v.messy and not sure if it will work on the fabric.... Cheers AG |

I think you may be better posting on a VW forum. As you say it needs to be right first time and the VW boys would know if it is possible and what glue to use.
C70 hoods are stitched and the rear window is bonded. If the window comes apart from the roof a new roof is the only answer.
