Retro fitting "IntelliSafe Assist" - XC60

I'm strongly considering buying an XC60 - Having looked around any of them I think I will be going for an R-Design Pro but one feature I do want is the ACC which means having the IntelliSafe Assist pack.
Looking at the ones on the 2nd hand market very few seem to have this so was wondering if anyone else has retro fitted it to a car?

If you buy a Model Year 2019 vehicle then this can be fitted:

It would be a waste of money on a manual, its best with a automatic gearbox or its going to keep cutting in and out every time you hit the clutch which would no doubt drop out the steering assist and the ACC.

One of its features is to take the car to zero and then move off again in stop start traffic, you cant really take advantage of that.

Many thanks for the response Chief Inspector. I appreciate the limitations in a manual but it is still useful running at motorway speeds when 6th gear will happily carry you along. A similar limitation applies to cruise control generally; if you are in a manual then you have to manually change gear. Volvo is actually better than some on this. On some other makes, if you hit the clutch the cruise control disengages until you re-engage the cruise control. With the Volvo, if you hit the clutch, the cruise only drops temporarily until you re-engage the next gear. I dont know whether this is how the Volvo ACC works - as I have only had ACC on a Volvo auto so far.

Marc, you can spec it on a new manual, so I was wondering whether it can be retrofitted on a manual. The Volvo page technical note states: "Only applies to cars with automatic gearbox" so that suggests not - unless I am confusing this with something else. If it cannot be retrofitted, do you know why not (especially as you can fit it from new)? If it can be retrofitted to a manual then great stuff!

Hi,

As you say, it does state you can only retro-fit it to automatic vehicles.

You're probably best off speaking to someone at your local dealer/the dealer where you'd have the work carried out to ask the technical questions as I'm not particularly familiar with them.
