On this - are you saying when using CarPlay you observed that the phone uses the in-car modem for internet connectivity instead of the phone network?

Having said that I didn't choose it as an option on my XC60 (picking up on wednesday) as I thought it wasn't really worth the £300 as functionality isn't great apart from podcast integration.

I also use it for Spotify to get great sound so no issue for me.

Just did a couple of trips and can confirm Volvo and Google Sat Navs work together at the same time on Apple Carplay.

Hum, will retry on AndroidAuto - seems odd that Volvo shuts down on one, but not the other.

Anyone else with Apple Carplay want to confirm. I set the route going on Google Maps first.

Mine is in for service Monday so will be updated with latest software. I wonder if this will change anything with the two working together.

If I am on google maps , I can switch to Sensus maps, but only one can be seen.
If I put a route in google maps, then sensus maps is not available, except for the drivers display. This is the same when I am using apple maps.

Yes but the route is still shown on driver display and the turns come up in the HUD as well as Google Sat Nav showing on Sensus giving directions.
Yesterday I set a short route going on Google on Sensus, then clicked on Volvo Sat Nav on Sensus even though the tile said carplay in use and the Volvo Sat Nav opened, I put the same route in the Volvo Sat Nav and started it, I muted the Volvo Sat Nav, I then switched back to Google Maps and it still had my directions and was active. Google Maps directed me while the driver display and HUD directed me as well. Not sure what I will do if the both give me a different direction though.
Not sure about Apple Maps as I have not tried it with both and I do not use it normally.

Used it over the weekend- I kinda like having Sensus navi in the driver's display while having google on the main screen. I use Sensus for navigation (via driver's display..) and google is up for realtime traffic. What I don't like is the fact that you can't use pinch to zoom but rather +/- buttons - kinda dumb and inconvenient but oh well..

Used it this morning to take my car in for a service. Took me a route I had no idea existed and was there quick.
Looking forward to the software improvements with the update today on ACC and PA.
Asked if I had any issues with the car, said no, been great apart from the usual, feeling every pot hole and lack of road refinement. Asked them to check if there was any updates on this, not expecting anything TBH. Flogging a dead horse I think with Volvo on this. Loaner is older XC60, so no chance to try out the new models.
