Default Loss of RPM/Console lights come on

For the last few days my car is suffering from loss of rpm when I apply the brakes from high speed and every so often the console warning lights flicker again with drop of rpm. coincedentally I've just had a full set of leads/plugs/rotor arm/cap replaced [tax man must love me the amount of miles I do]

RPM drops to around 500 ish car never stalls though the drop is very detectable as the brakes are applied only from high speed so I'm thinking either a vacuum leak or fuel starvation.

Second part is every so often the idle will lower then the warning lamps will come on only for a brief part of a second then the idle comes back and all is good. I'm thinking either faulty carbon brushes in the alternator or battery is on the way out

Default pipes

Hi if the gearbox is a AW50-42 they should possibly be the same as the manual says all models upto 96 had the same gearbox with exception to the T5-R can't find any gearbox info on that but I imagine its the same.

How are you fixed on sunday for me to pick them up ?

Charlotte
