Default 'light misting of oil on both rear shocks' - MOT advisory

As well as corrosion on both rears.

so i have a late 2013 V60 SE Lux, 77k miles (do around 10-12k a year) and had the oil fog and rear spring advisory.

The springs were the same last year.

So the question, what are the expected 'costs' to get new shocks and springs and also fitted? is this a regular occurance for the age/milage?

I do tow a wobble box, but this isnt too regular so not a weekly occurance, maybe one or twice every few months but on the longer trips the car does get filled.

I am aware it will also need the belts doing next year (oh joy) but it will be the point of no return, once the cam belt it done then the car will need to last till it falls apart as expecting to get another 4-5 years out of it before buying a new motor. In the current climate getting a new car and the costs will be a stretch in addition to everything else.

9 years old mate just change them it's your safety we're talking about here, see them like a pair of tyres or pads and discs, they wear out they leak and if you tow you increase the wear on them faster anyway.

Price wise the shocks are £90 give or take a score each for the front and from £75 rears, springs are £60 each I can't find the front ones but would imagine the same sort of money, then there's fitting if you aren't able to do them yourself.

This is where Kwik Fit etc come in handy, you'll probably get all 8 items replaced for the same as just you buying the parts, I'd say you're looking at £800 inc fitting where an auto centre especially if there's a discount code like National do anything from £500/650.
