Poor FM reception
Since getting back from hols I've noticed that the reception on the radio around my home area is pretty bad. I don't recall problems before the holiday and wonder if P3 V70 radios have a particular problem. It's almost as if the signal strength has been substantially reduced. As you drive along quite shallow valleys the signal breaks up badly and in steeper parts it disappears completely. Even in open flat land the signal breaks up a bit at times. I could understand issues like that in mountainous areas, but the Welsh border is 50 miles west and we're on the Cheshire Plain.

I had same problem with my XC60 after a holiday. It was like aerial not connected properly (I've had many cars like that with bad earths etc) but as under warranty took to dealer.
Dealer not think it caused by aerial and tried software reinstall, etc, etc with no success. Guess what... turned out to be the aerial connection come loose. Must have been all the vibrations of holiday trip. Can't help with which or where connection is because they didn't say, but sounds likely to be the cause. Someone on here might join in to advise where to look. Good luck.

It certainly used to be on the nearside rear window on my old 850, but it's definitely one of this little 'bump' jobs on the rear roof on the current V70.

Hi,
I think they call those "bumps" "Sharkfins" Des. . .

Check the aerial connectors in the rear side windows.
My reception became decidedly iffy after I had the windows tinted. Checked and found the installer hadn't reattached the snap connectors. All good now!
