200bhp XC90 03 D5 Auto Last Online: Feb 29th, 2012 07:27 Join Date: Nov 2008 Location: solihull	Diesel XC90 - Wastegate Stuck open ? My wifes 2003 XC90 has just had to have the crank seal replaced at only 50k (I mention that in case its related) and we noticed that if we blip the throttle hard there is a dump valve noise coming from the air filter box. A volvo specialist has had a look and thinks the wastegate is stuck open and thinks we need a new turbo. Has anyone has an experience of this ? It seems strange to me that the wastegate can't be freed up but I am only familiar with older petrol turbos. Any advice welcome even if it only for a recon specialist.
