Default So Angry - New Car, busted.

Afternoon y'all.

4 weeks ago i bought an S40 57 plate. About 2 weeks ago the EGR Valve blew, so i had to have it replaced. I put it down to the milage (91000) so i paid for the valve and that was that.

After the valve replacement i took the car out a test drive and the Anti-Skid Serivice Req. message came up, along with Reduce Engine Performance. I took it back to the place that replaced the valve and asked them to take a look, they reffered me to the dealership for diagnostics as their machine only went to 2005.

The dealer reset the faults and i left, 10 miles later they both came back on so i went back to the Garage and left the car there. Today i have been told that neither the dealer or the garage can find the problem, and the dealership had a similar car a few weeks back which they could not fix.

Can anyone suggest what i should do next? Do i call Volvo UK? Can i return the car to the Dealer i bought it from?

I really don't know.

Thanks for any advice.

If the antiskid message come up there will be a fault code stored to indocate what is going on , did they tell you which code it was?
You have to go by whet the code says really . Brake pressure sensor fault is my guess ..

Nah, they gave me some form that just had DTC is not active.

Is the break pressure sensor issue the common fault in these cars? And would that cause the Reduced Engine Performance?

This code although in the ABS control unit is actualy caused by the code in the engine ECU , did you have that one?

Yeah, i have BCM 0101 - DTC is found not active
ECM-1507 Turbo Control - Too low pressure
ECM-1517 Turbo Control - Pressure too high
ECM-2A40 Particulate Trap - Signal too high
ECM-6620 Glow relay control - faulty signal

DTC is found active for all of the ECM faults.

The others are loudspeaker faults.

All cars bought from a dealership HAVE to have a 3 month warranty. Give it back, demand a courtesy car and save yourself the stress!

Good luck!

Any dealership? I bought it from Motorline Direct. Would they be included?
