Gearbox oil

Hello,
I'm thinking about the oil change in my V50 2.0D (2005) gearbox. (gears shifting heavily between 1st and 2nd when car is cold)
Would you please let me know which oil would be the the best choice to go for?

I changed mine a couple of years back and the box felt a bit more silky than before but not a huge change but in any case it is a very good bit of maintenance to do.

I just bought some from the dealer, I tried Opie Oils for a special fluid but they drew a blank. The standard oil is a bit thick when cold but fine when hot, some folk will run with a thinner oil for easy gear changes but I can't recommend anything by name. I think T5monkey on here has experimented with non-standard oil.

Volvo introduced a modified gearbox oil for this very problem just under a year ago . If you are going to change the oil best get the later type ..
